About Hertford - Hertfordshire
HERTFORD
Did you know?
Hertford has a secret labyrinth of tunnels that run under the streets
And were used for almost a 1000 years, emanating from the dungeons
Of Hertford Castle and from Fore Street, the passages run like a warren under the ancient county town and stretch from bluecoats to county hall. Today many of the entrances have been bricked up, but some are still in use and may even be booby trapped.
Properly maintaining pool water chemistry is perhaps the most important aspect of maintaining a swimming pool. Proper water chemistry is required to keep a swimming pool safe and clean for swimmers. Maintaining a swimming pool's chemicals can save pool owners hundreds of pounds per year, and endless hours of time. Armed with a basic understanding of swimming pool chemistry, and by following a few simple steps, any pool owner can maintain their own swimming pool with the same results as the professionals.
Maintaining a proper pH level can be just as important as having chlorine in the pool at all. The pH level in your pool should be about the same as the pH level of human tears, 7.2 chlorine is about 10 times more effective at sanitizing your water when the pH is at 7.2 rather than a high ph level of say 8.2, pH can best be measured with a "drop" type test kit, versus a "test strip" which can be easily misread. Most often you'll find the pH level is high, the best way to lower pH is by slowly adding "Muratic Acid" into a plastic bucket with warm water and pouring into the deep end of the pool while the pool pump is on, and the water is circulating. Also if your having a problem with "burning eyes" while swimming in the pool, high or low pH is probably to blame, not high chlorine.
I know its sounds very boring and perhaps a little complicated, but its not hard to test these levels
And it makes so much difference to your pools water quality that it’s a must. We can do a pool
Water analysis test for you, and depending on where you live its usually free of charge, so if you
Have water in your pool that is a few years old, it makes sense to have it analysed,
