About Falmouth - Cornwall

Falmouth is a thriving seaside town that is popular with holiday visitors year after year. The town has a selection of beaches to suit everyone from fine shale to the golden sands of Maenporth.

Falmouth is a town with a lot happening all the time. A lively schedule of performances and events takes place at Princess Pavilion throughout the year whilst larger town festivals occur periodically outside the Maritime Museum in the events square.

For war-like goings on, Pendennis castle is the place to visit, with jousting tournaments and occasional WW2 days when the guns are fired for the public to see.

Falmouth's close historical association with the sea - a tradition that still thrives today - is celebrated at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall which can be found on Falmouth's waterfront. The maritime museum was where Dame Ellen MacArthur stepped ashore at the conclusion of her record-breaking solo round the world voyage.

Falmouth is fairly well known for its public parks and gardens, which are both colourful and strangly tropical in nature as a result of Falmouth's relatively warm climate all year round.
